A chaotic and intense cultural transition caused by the emergence of online media, has given birth to a new dimension of free speech. Information is unrestricted, easy to distribute and endlessly being transformed. The development of a digital society is undeniable.
This work originated as a quest for explanations and new knowledge in the field of internet communication. It contains definitions of the Blog concept, analyzes the Blog’s history and development. It looks at different types of blogs which are online today as well as the popularity and significance of the blog phenomenon.
On the other hand, to understand the Blog and some of the key terms and concepts related to blogs (blogger, blogosphere) it was necessary to gain a foundation in the basic principles of Internet technology and it’s use. The section on “Virtual Communication and identity loss in Cyberspace” is also note worthy and provokes further research and theoretical analysis.
This research is also a testimony to the necessity of internet research in this particular field as there is a lack of available literature in the serbian language.

Usred haotične i temeljne kulturne tranzicije, povezane sa razvojem umreženih medijskih tehnologija, nastala je nova dimenzija slobode govora. Informacija se neograničeno kopira, jednostvano distribuira i beskonačno transformiše. Razvoj digitalnog društva je danas neminovan.
Ovaj rad nastao je iz želje da se potraže objašnjenja i relativna saznanja iz oblasti komuniciranja posredstvom Interneta. U radu se navode definicije pojma Blog, analizira njegov istorijat i razvoj, vrste blogova, kao i njegova popularnost i značaj. S druge strane, za razumevanje bloga i osnovnih njegovih termina ( blogger, blogosfera), neophodna su bila osnovna znanja iz informatike. Mala naznaka u ovom istraživanju je stavljena i na deo ” Virtuelnog komuniciranja i gubljenja indetiteta u sajberprostoru “, kao podstrek za dubljom teorijskom analizom.
Ovo istrazivanje je i dokaz o nužnosti koriščenja Interneta pri sakupljanju materijala i literature na ovu temu , zbog nedostataka literature na srpskom jeziku.
